Meghan Markle’s holiday post sparks reaction from Prince William
Prince William is reportedly not happy about Meghan Markle’s holiday post.
Meghan shared a series of photos on her official Instagram account on July 23, 2026 with the caption “summer holidays.”
The pictures offered a glimpse into the Sussex family’s European tour. In one of the pictures, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet can be seen walking towards Diana’s grave at Althorp House, where they honored the late princess with flowers, according to Closer Magazine.
The late princess’ resting place is considered a sacred and private site; consequently, the post instantly sparked backlash, with one of the headlines stating that Meghan's "vulgar" act at Diana's resting place "vindicates" Prince William. Columnist Maureen Callahan writes, "Just when you think Meghan can’t go any lower, she outdoes herself."
Sharing his view on the controversy, the royal commentator Tom Sykes said, “They process down an avenue of lime trees at Althorp clutching bouquets to lay on Diana’s grave, which seems a weird thing to post as part of your holiday content, but hey ho: then we went to a grave! Everything is absolutely sun-kissed and amazing.”
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales was reportedly upset by the photo and believed that it was posted to gain headlines rather than a private family tribute. “The fact they shared a photo of the children on the grounds of Diana’s family home has enraged William. He says it’s so obvious it was done to get headlines, and that sickens him,” an insider told the outlet.
Adding, “He doesn’t have any objection to Archie and Lilibet paying their respects to their late grandmother, but in his view, to turn it into a publicity grab is just beyond disrespectful, and he’s incredibly sad that they would stoop this low.”
“That being said, he’s not the least bit shocked because this is exactly the sort of thing he was expecting to happen,” the source further claimed.
