Piers Morgan refuses to accept Charles Spencer apology
Charles Spencer apologised for his mistake made in his book about the late Princess Diana
Earl Charles Spencer has apologised to British journalist Piers Morgan for a factual inaccuracy in his book on Princess Diana.
In his book, "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister", Spencer claimed Morgan was at the Mirror when it published photos of Princess Diana in the gym in 1993.
However, Morgan was at the News of the World at the time and did not start at Mirror Group until 1995.
Reacting to Spencer’s apology, Piers Morgan also contradicted account of their phone call, saying it was “deeply misleading.”
He said, “ I was neither surly nor annoyed, but instead, very respectful to him and his family, as I wrote in my diaries, The Insider. It would seem that Spencer’s recollection of phone calls is very suspect.”
Piers Morgan called for Charles Spencer’s book to be withdrawn from sale, adding that he’ll press ahead with legal action.
