Oliver Tree's powerful message against critics goes viral after deadly helicopter crash

Oliver Tree, an alt-pop star whose abrupt death shocked fans, previously delivered a powerful message to critics.

In a throwback interview, the musician told fans to stay above public opinion.

"Who cares? People are going to judge you in life," he said.

Tree's inspirational remarks come after he was among six people in a helicopter that crashed in Rio de Janeiro.

The crash was caused by a collision between two choppers in midair.

Videos on social media show a helicopter descending with flames engulfing it as it hit the ground.

Tree, whose real name was Oliver Tree Nickell, was born in Santa Cruz.

He was best known for his signature bowl haircut. His hit songs include Life Goes, Miss You, and Alien Boy.

A flood of tributes followed on social media after Tree’s tragic death.

YouTuber KSI, who has previously collaborated with him, sent his condolences on the internet.

"Can't believe I'm actually having to type this. You're 32 man. You should still be here. You still had so much life to live. So much music to make. So much content to make,” he said.
