Anna Faris has confirmed she will not be a part ofToy Story 5after rumours linked her to the project.
The rumours suggested the actress had joined the voice cast, which were recently dismissed by Faris herself. She admitted that even her own family had been convinced by the speculation.
"No, that’s just a rumour. I’m not in it. I wish I was. I love doing voice work, but no, that was an internet rumour. My mom and dad called me, and they’re like, “You’re in it?” I was like, “No, but I wish I was,” the actress recently told Variety.
The clarification comes as excitement continues to build around the next instalment in Pixar’s blockbuster franchise, with fans eagerly looking out for casting updates and production developments.
While she won’t be appearing in Toy Story 5, Faris is preparing for a major return to cinemas with Scary Movie 6. The actress is reprising her role as Cindy Campbell, marking her comeback to the long-running parody series that defined early 2000s comedy.
Scary Movie 6 follows a fearful Cindy using a substance to become younger, parodying modern horror trends like Smile, M3GAN, The Nun, Vecna, and Ghostface.
Faris said returning to the franchise felt “euphoric” and also recalled how she was approached about the project.
"In February of 2025, [Marlon Wayans] called me, and he said, “We’re getting the gang back together.” I couldn’t believe it. So, for this to happen in this way has been euphoric for me,"
Faris told the magazine.
