Why did Luke Combs think his career was over when he met Blake Shelton?

Luke Combs has recalled his first meeting with his ideal Blake Shelton.

The 36-year-old singer revealed that he was "extremely sick" when he met the country superstar at a farm in Mississippi over a decade ago.

"I'm the new guy, nobody knows who I am, and I felt like I wasn't supposed to be there," recalled Luke, as per People magazine.

"I'm in there, and Colin has this beautiful farm in Mississippi, and there's deer, and I'm like, 'Man, this is like Mecca for a redneck.' There are ducks in the pond, and here I am, chugging the Imodium on the toilet," continued theBeer Never Broke My Heart hitmaker.

Luke further stated that he was so sick at the time and spent much of the trip in his room, eating chicken soup.

"It was less than ideal. I remember thinking, like, 'Well, this is it. My career's over.'" I finally got invited to a cool thing, and I'm the weird guy in the room that's sick," the Days Like These crooner said on March 20 at a private event.

Despite feeling out of place, Luke impressed Blake by performing the hit Hurricane during a campfire gathering.
