King Charles’ health rumors: What’s happening to the monarch behind closed doors

There are a lot of rumors circulating about the King and what he may be struggling with, in regards to his cancer that is being kept under wraps.

Things like the severity of his illness, even the treatment options available to him since it was ‘reduced’ early this year. All of which, have kept the rumor mill churning. But the most extensive out of all of them is the comments surrounding chatter for abdication.

However in respect to his medical treatments and options the following is being considered, the first of which being alternate medicine because early on into his treatment the King actually went to India with Queen Camilla for an ayurveda retreat.

Secondly is the rumor that the King has already handed over most power and control to Prince William and is planning his abdication as we speak under the code word Operation Menai Bridge. However, its pertinent to mention that no official report has come out corroborating this news.

However, the road to his recovery also featured brief official updates, one of which being his having to face “side effects” of his treatment that some speculate is immunotherapy or radiotherapy.

Timeline of King Charles’ Cancer:

What is well known and documented however is that February 2024 was when the news of the King’s cancer spread. A few months later in April he had already returned to public facing duties and carried on as usual. Undertaking about 186 engagements, give or take, only less than Princess Anne who stood at 217. (Apart from her, the Court Circular states, in respect to the next runner ups were the Duke of Gloucester, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.)

From March to December not many updates were given, and only late last year did the King reveal he is to have a reduction in his treatment frequency, as of 2026.
