A woman has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her partner with a screwdriver during a roadside argument in Houston, according to court documents.
Prosecutors say the incident unfolded on December 27 near Laura Koppe Road and Lockwood Drive, where Jayla Brown and Keylan Foreman seen arguing outside her vehicle, reports ABC 13.
Brown later told detectives that Foreman had hit her. But investigators said surveillance footage from a nearby business did not support that account.
Instead, the video allegedly shows Brown striking Foreman, knocking him to the ground and continuing the attack while holding a long, thin object in her hand.
Court records state Brown then attempted to drive Foreman to hospital but stopped at a petrol station, saying she did not have enough fuel, and asked someone to call 911. Officers found him unconscious and bleeding as he was rushed to hospital.
Foreman died on January 19, with the medical examiner concluding that his injuries were caused by a screwdriver, investigators said.
Police have not disclosed what sparked the dispute.
Brown has since been charged with murder.
