Eamonn Holmes offered viewers a heartbreaking glimpse into his ongoing health struggles during a live broadcast before being abruptly cut off by producers.
The 65-year-old presenter had been discussing the current investigation into Peter Mandelson, who was caught urinating in the street in London.
While covering the segment, Eamonn drew on his own experience, revealing that due to his severe spinal issues, there are moments when he simply 'can't wait' to use the bathroom.
'I am getting over a medical condition, and I just can't wait,' he said to his co-host Ellie Costello.
'And then (Mandelson) was in the street. But what else is the man to do? Knock on someone's door and say, 'Would you let me go and have a pee in your house?'
'Most people are going to say, how dare you, I am not going to do that. So I'm saying there is a difficulty in public about where you actually go to relieve yourself. That's the thing.'
He then noted that producers were urging him to quickly move to the discussion along, taking a subtle swipe at them for failing to approach the topic with greater understanding and nuance.
'And as my producer says in my ear the give away is next. They are obviously not interested in this dilemma or how it relates to me identifying with it,' he said.
Eamonn's health deteriorated significantly after a spinal surgery in 2021, which led to complications that ultimately left him reliant on a wheelchair.
