Catherine, Princess of Wales, has raised awareness about a pressing issue in her new personal letter as the year 2025 comes to a close.
The future Queen shed light onMaternal Mental Health Alliance's meaningful campaign, This is Also Motherhood, which aims to highlight stories of women facingperinatal mental illness from conceiving a child to raising.
Kate, who was announced as the patron of Maternal Mental Health Alliance in 2022, wrote, "The Maternal Mental Health Alliance continues to champion the voices of those navigating perinatal mental illness."
She added, "Their new photographic exhibition, 'This is Also Motherhood', explores the often unseen realities of mental health throughout pregnancy and beyond."
The future Queen lauded the courage of "ten extraordinary women" who are participating in the exhibition.
They are motivating other mothers by speaking about their own experiences "whether marked by trauma, joy, or resilience...."
Kate shared that these mothers have been sending a reminder to society that no woman should navigate the perinatal journey alone.
The senior working member of the royal family heaped praise onMMHA's core mission, noting that they are ensuring the provision of mental health care and support women need, before, during, and after pregnancy across the UK, with the help of 100 organisations.
At the end of her note, Princess Kate said, "Every parent's story matters and every voice has the power to help build a society where love, hope, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do."
