Meghan Trainor says health comes first after backlash over weight loss

Meghan Trainor is responding to comments about her recent weight loss.

The 31-year-old singer told Entertainment Tonight that she has been focusing on her health more than ever since becoming a mom.

“I’m literally for the first time ever, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I've never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great,” she said.

“And that's when people attack me.” She added, “I'm taking care of myself. I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”

In March, Trainor addressed online criticism and shared on Instagram that she decided to take Mounjaro, a GLP-1 medication.

Later that month at Billboard’s 2025 Women in Music Awards, she explained that she began using it after welcoming her second child with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara. She said she also worked with a dietician, changed her routine, and has a trainer.

“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me,” she said. “Yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I’m so glad I did because I feel great.”

Trainor just released Still Don’t Care, the lead single from her upcoming album Toy With Me. She told People magazine that hurtful online comments helped inspire the song.

“My page is usually a friendly, happy, mom-loving place, but it took a dark turn,” she said, explaining that some people said she looked “too thin.” She said she felt confused because she has been focused on feeling healthy.

Trainor explained the theme of the song: “I liked the idea of... ‘Let me think about it one more time. Nope, I still don't care.’ And I know that when I start singing it, it'll be my therapy, my exposure therapy.”
