Prince William, who making big strides behind Palace doors with the approval of the monarch, gave a humbling tribute to King Charles and Queen Camilla in a rare move.

The Prince of Wales had missed the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday as his eldest son, Prince George took his place next to Princess Kate. William had just returned from his Brazil trip hours prior.

Although, he resumed his position next to the King on Remembrance Sunday parade at the Cenotaph and honoured the “extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of all who have served - and continue to serve”.

On Tuesday, Prince William had joined Charles and Camilla in poignant reception held at Windsor Castle where he met with veterans. The Future King was engrossed in conversation with the attendees during the event.

Kensington Palace shared a message on behalf of William who acknowledged the King and Queen in a show of respect.

“Honoured to be at Windsor Castle this evening to mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War in the Far East with Their Majesties,” the statement read alongside the video highlights.

“It was deeply moving to meet veterans from across the UK and Commonwealth who served in the Pacific and Indian Ocean territories - a generation whose courage and sacrifice brought peace to millions, and whose legacy continues to inspire us today.”

At the end, it mentioned the infamous war remembrance phrase, “Lest We Forget.”

Earlier in the day, William had addressed young people in a pre-recorded message which was played out at the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Assembly for Armistice Day.

“When we remember, we connect with service in a personal way. We learn from the courage of others, and we carry their stories forward, so they are not forgotten,” he had said in the emotional speech.
