Sean “Diddy” Combs is setting the record straight after reports surfaced that he was caught drinking alcohol behind bars.

In a statement shared via his official X account on Saturday, November 8, the disgraced music mogul’s team dismissed the claims, writing, “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

TMZ had reported a day prior that Combs, who recently celebrated his 56th birthday behind bars, was accused of brewing a makeshift alcoholic drink at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey using sugar, Fanta, and apples.

The outlet also claimed he had gotten into “trouble with prison officials” over it. However, a prison representative told the publication there was “no information” to support the rumor.

Combs’ spokesperson also told Page Six that the rapper is “focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day” since his transfer to the facility last month.

“As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there — most of them untrue,” the rep added. “We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose.”

Before his sentencing on October 3, Combs told Judge Arun Subramanian that he had been “sober for the first time in 25 years.” He wrote, “I’m proud to say I’m working harder than I ever have before… I thank God that I’m stronger, wiser, clean, clear and sober.”

The Bad Boy Records founder is serving a four-year and two-month sentence and is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028.
