Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, and Taylor Swift have seemingly been exchanging jabs since the pop superstar threw shade at the sportscaster on her song.
When the Pre-Game podcast host, 34, showed off her Halloween costume inspired by Toni Braxton’s He Wasn’t Man Enough music video, which appeared to be a dig at the Eras Tour performer, 35.
The costume soon went viral on social media, with people divided on either side, slamming the other.
Finally, during the latest episode of the Pre-Game podcast, Nicole revealed the inspiration behind the look, saying, “I had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor. And she [had] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn’t play them type of games.”
She continued, “I specifically remember driving home from private school in my uniform in the back of a paddy wagon with Taylor, and her mom was playing this song.”
The memory became significant to Nicole because she noticed, “Wow, white people listen to black people music as well.”
However, many social media users did not believe the story and many accused her of making it up, more so because of the friend’s name, as one wrote on X, “some things are better left unsaid.”
Some even claimed that she was using the Grammy winner’s name for clout, saying, “Even if she did have a friend named Taylor, that little anecdote had no relevance to anything.”
On the other side, Nicole’s fans alleged that the X users siding with Swift were fake accounts run by the Opalite hitmaker’s team.
Since the apparent drama started, neither Swift nor Kelce has spoken about it.
