Prince William, Princess Kate issue important message ahead of key event

The Prince and Princess of Wales are bringing attention to an important matter as a major event is set to take place in mere two weeks, amid the backdrop of massive changes in Palace.

Prince William has been playing an active role in crucial meetings about the next set to steps to take with his father King Charles, but at the same time, he has not let his focus divert from another big cause he has been working on.

William’s Earthshot Prize 2025 Award ceremony has been inked to take place November 5, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

As preparation for the major event are taking place, Kensington Palace shared a message from behalf of the future king and queen, highlighting ways people can have access to clean air.

“Choosing to ensure that everyone breathes clean, healthy air by revolutionising transport, removing pollution from the air, choosing renewable energy and eliminating the burning of fossil fuels,” the message read, as they shared finalists working on the key mission.

William founded the Earthshot Prize to find practical solution to alleviate the planet of its most pressing problems. The award has been divided into five categories: Protect & Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste-free World, Fix Our Climate.

The programme unveiled its three finalists for ‘Clean Our Air’ and stated: “Three regions. One mission.”

The City of Bogotá, which has long battled air pollution cause by public transport, has made “ambitious plans and smart policy delivering clean air for an entire city”.

The City of Guangzhou is combatting urban air pollution with “a bold, city-wide transformation of its transport system to deliver cleaner air, healthier streets, and a model that could inspire others around the world.”

Lastly, the State of Gujarat has “pioneered the world’s first trading scheme for particulate emissions, that lets businesses keep growing while providing clean, healthier air for its citizens”.

Amid Prince William’s important role in high-level talks with King Charles, the update also comes as he is getting ready to shift into his new home, Forest Lodge, with Princess Catherine and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The move is expected to finalise the same day as the ceremony held in Brazil. Hence, Catherine and the children would not be in attendance.
