Rain and fall

A late-night thunderstorm followed by a day-long spell of rain was the highlight of last week. It swept away the oppressive heat and ushered in a refreshing, albeit temporary, chill. Temperatures plummeted: the day’s maximum dropped to 23 degree Celsius and the minimum hit 18 degrees — the lowest recorded in the city since February. Locals responded by pulling out light jackets and jumpers, particularly for the evening stroll. While the days are warming up again, the nights are expected to remain cool for the foreseeable future.
