King Charles faced Royal Family backlash over major move

There is no doubt about King Charles' concern for climate change, as he actively takes part in raising awareness about sustainable agriculture, organic farming, and biodiversity.

But there was one move by Charles that did not sit well with the members of the royal family.

In an attempt to influence his policy, he also penned several letters to government ministers, including Ken Clarke, the former Education Secretary.

According to a former royal aide, quoted in Valentine Low's Power and the Palace book: 'They would sometimes get exercised about the Prince getting a bit ahead of the skis, becoming a bit more engaged in some of these sensitive issues than the Queen thought was necessarily wise.

The book also reveals: 'Other members of the Royal Family, including Princess Anne and Prince Andrew, thought that his enthusiasm for such issues bordered on the naïve.'

A Palace source further claimed that the late Queen's view on Charles' habit of writing to ministers was, 'Just don't do it.'

For context, Charles became monarch following the Queen's death, which happened on this day three years ago.

Meanwhile, King Charles shared a sweet tribute to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's passing.

The caption alongside the photos reads,' Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022.'
