"Chand Raat” also remained a great sources of joy for Eid shoppers. On the day of Eid, immediately after Eid prayers, people visited graveyards to pray for their dear and near ones. Eid, the greatest festival of Muslims, wore a little shade of sadness too for the showbiz community due to the brutal murder of the legendary and last great voice of Qawali, Amjad Sabri. On the whole, braving the sticky weather, unprecedented price hike and the prevailing sense of insecurity, Eid was dubbed as one of the best in terms of an overall peaceful environment in the provincial capital owning to the untiring and highly commendable efforts and measures by the security agencies, with Lahore police on the forefront.
