Emergency medical cover

All the six tehsil headquarters hospitals and eight rural health centres (RHCs) in the district would provide only emergency medical services to patients during Eidul Fitr holidays, from Tuesday to Friday as their outpatient departments would not be operational during the holidays.

The emergency medical cover would be available to public in peripheries round the clock through the THQ hospitals and RHCs, said Executive District Officer (Health) Dr. Arshad Ali Sabir while talking to ‘The News’ on Monday.

There are six THQ hospitals located in Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kahuta, Kallar Syedan, Kotli Satyan and Murree and eight RHCs located in Rawalpindi, Chauntra, Baga Sheikhan, Mandra, Qazian, Lehtrar, Phagwari and Doltala that are operating under supervision of district health department. During Eid holidays, the outpatient departments at the THQ hospitals and RHCs would not operate and as well the 14 healthcare facilities would not deal with medico legal cases instead such cases would be referred to District Headquarters Hospital in Rawalpindi city.
