Prince Edward reunites with brother King Charles after heartfelt speech

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be welcoming Prince Edward to Scotland after the Duke of Edinburgh successfully accomplished an important task on behalf of the monarch.

Charles is expected to be beaming with pride after his brother performed his duties quite well and delivering a crucial speech.

The King and Queen are currently in Edinburgh to mark Holyrood Week – the annual royal celebration of Scottish culture, community and achievements.

Edward, who was bestowed the title of his late father Prince Philip by Charles following his ascension, will be performing another crucial task in Edinburgh after he won over the Canadians during his three-day visit.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Edward, an Honorary Fellow, of The Royal Society of Edinburgh, will present Royal Medals at The Royal Society of Edinburgh on Thursday.

The update comes after the King’s brother marked Canada Day in Ottawa on Wednesday with a heartfelt speech.

After expressing his gratitude to the Governor-General and the Prime Minister for the invitation, the Duke delivered a message from the monarchs.

“They send you their very best wishes, and they do want to say thank you for the wonderful welcome that they received just a few weeks ago when they were here.”

He also added, a personal touch to the message as he acknowledged the messages sent to “my brother for a speedy recovery”.

“I know he realty appreciates it and thank you.”

The monarch traditionally spends a week each July in Edinburgh but last year the programme was shortened by the general election. However, this year the monarchs are expected to spend the week before heading to Windsor for the State Visit.
