LAHORE:Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a warning of wind and rain. Strong winds, dusty winds and rain are predicted in most districts of Punjab from tomorrow (June 25) to Tuesday (July 1).
Rain with strong winds is predicted in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Jhelum, Gujranwala. There are chances of rain in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sargodha and Mianwali. Rain is also predicted in South Punjab, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar from June 26 to 28.
Director General of PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia said that an alert was issued to the district administration as per the CM’s instructions. The intensity of heat will decrease due to the series of rains.
An alert has been issued to the departments of health, irrigation, construction and communications, local government and livestock. Citizens are requested to take precautionary measures in bad weather conditions. Stay in safe places in case of wind storm and lightning. In case of emergency, contact the PDMA helpline 1129.
Meanwhile, Cloudy weather with trace rain fall was recorded in the City here on Monday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours. The rain occurred in spans in various city localities. Following the rainy weather, Wasa Lahore was already on full alert. Met officials said moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bey of Bengal were penetrating upper parts of the country while a westerly wave was also affecting upper parts of the country. They predicted that hot and very humid weather was likely to persist in most parts of the country.
