LAHORE:The Punjab government has allocated Rs15 billion for environment and climate change for the year 2025-26.
A total of 22 ongoing and eight new schemes will be completed for which Rs9.095 billion and Rs5.905 billion were allocated respectively. The new schemes included establishment of environmental monitoring centre in Lahore, construction of green building for EMC, EPD and allied new entities established under PGDP, enhanced air quality monitoring system in Punjab, environmental monitoring of industrial units, Punjab smog mitigation and response initiative, establishment of climate observatory in Punjab, piloting the solutions for environmentally sound management of crop residues and establishment of environment protection force in 10 zones of Punjab.
