LAHORE:Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari while speaking to the media on the Punjab Assembly premises, expressed her gratitude to the chief minister for including the proposals made for journalists in the provincial budget.

She stated that this is the best budget in Punjab’s history, where public welfare has been given top priority. “The budget has been crafted keeping in mind the development of all sectors in Punjab — particularly health, transport, education, and service delivery”.

Azma announced that the CM would soon issue allotment letters to journalists and that efforts are under way to ensure timely payment of salaries. She stated that the health sector will be strengthened with adequate staff, ensuring that citizens receive proper medical treatment. Azma emphasised that the journey of prosperity in Punjab is moving at full pace, where the minimum wage has been raised to Rs40,000. “Punjab is the only province that pays the highest salaries and pensions,” she claimed.
