LAHORE:Hot but partly cloudy weather was recorded in the City here on Sunday while Met office predicted windstorm/dust-thunderstorm /hailstorm/heavy rain falls and lightning during the next 24 hours.
Met officials said moist currents were approaching central and southern parts of the country while a westerly wave was also present over upper/central parts and likely to persist during next two days. They predicted that partly cloudy weather with dust/thunderstorm-rain was likely at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, eastern Punjab, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Northern Balochistan. Isolated hailstorm may also occur during the period. Hot and dry weather was likely elsewhere in the country while, very hot in plain areas. Rainfall was recorded at several cities across the country. Sunday's maximum temperature was observed at Noorpur Thal and Turbat where mercury reached 48°C, while in Lahore, it was 39°C.
