LAHORE:After the ‘failure’ of live chicken price fixation mechanism, the Punjab government has returned to old mechanism in which rates of chicken meat and live chicken is fixed parallel. But in the past, it was not implemented due to lack of the government machinery’s interests in enforcing the official rate lists in the province.
Similarly, the milk sellers have also increased the rates of milk and curd on their own. They have increased at least Rs20 per litre for milk and Rs20 to 30 per kg for curd. This week the rate of live chicken was fixed at Rs249-263 per kg, while the seller didn’t sale live chicken, chicken meat was fixed at Rs381 per kilogram, while the sellers sold it at Rs480-530 per kg and chicken boneless at Rs1,000 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin A-grade was fixed at Rs55-60 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, B-grade at Rs45-50 per kg and C-grade at Rs35-40 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg. The price of potato sugar free A-grade fixed Rs50-55, B-grade 40-45 and C-grade at Rs30-35 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade was fixed at Rs35-40 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg, B-grade at Rs27-30 per kg, and C-grade at Rs22-25 per kg, mixed sold at Rs50-60 per kg. The price of tomato A-grade was also increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs35-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs27-30 per kg, and C-grade at Rs22-25 per kg, mixed sold at Rs60-80 per kg.
The price of garlic local new was fixed at Rs176-185 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, Garlic China fixed at Rs248-250 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Garlic Harani fixed at Rs220-230 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. The price of both Ginger Thai was fixed at Rs525-550 per kg, sold at Rs650-700 per kg.
Brinjal price was fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg. Biter gourd fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price Spinach fixed at Rs38-40 at Rs80-100 per kg. The price of different variety of apples fixed at Rs270-430 per kg, sold at Rs350-800 per kg.
Mangoes of the different varieties fixed at Rs230-270 per kg, sold at Rs250-400 per kg. The price of Banana A-category fixed at Rs180-200 per dozen, sold at Rs250-350 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs134-150 dozen, sold at Rs200-230 per dozen. C-grade was fixed at Rs90-100 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen. Melon was fixed at Rs50-80 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Watermelon was fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg. Cantaloupe was fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs130-180 per kg.
