LAHORE:The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has finalised extensive arrangements to provide enhanced cleanliness services during Eid-ul-Azha.
To promote an eco-friendly approach, LWMC has established 300 service delivery camps throughout provincial capital for the distribution of biodegradable waste bags. These waste bags are being handed out at various Union Council and model camps to residents performing the sacrificial rites, facilitating proper disposal of animal waste and maintaining city hygiene.
LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din, who is supervising the Eid cleanliness operations in the field, distributed eco-friendly waste bags among residents at Lakshmi Chowk, Chairing Cross, and Bhatti Model Camp. He also inspected cleanliness arrangements at Data Darbar, Shah Alam Market, Bhatti Gate, and Lohari Gate.
During the intense heat, LWMC CEO met with sanitation workers engaged in Eid cleaning operations to motivate them and distributed cold water bottles as a token of appreciation. He praised the sanitation workers as the true heroes for maintaining a hygienic and odor-free environment on the eve of Eid.
He emphasised that providing a clean environment to the people of provincial capital remained the top priority. All officials and workers are present in the field to ensure smooth execution of cleanliness arrangements. Citizens are urged to play their part responsibly during the festival. For complaints or assistance related to sanitation, residents can contact LWMC’s helpline at 1139 or reach out through social media platforms.
