LAHORE:The School Education Department (SED) Punjab has directed all the private schools to charge tuition fees for summer vacation on a monthly basis and the schools have been strictly prohibited from pressuring parents or guardians into making advance payments for the complete vacation period.
In this regard, SED Punjab has issued instructions to all District Education Authorities (DEAs) across the province. Following these provincial directives, the DEAs have issued notices recently, to all private schools in their respective districts addressing concerns about improper fee collection during summer vacations.
The DEAs noted that some private schools have been charging full tuition fees for the entire summer vacation period in advance, a practice that has been viewed seriously by the competent authority.
The DEAs emphasised that strict compliance with these instructions is mandatory. Any violations will be handled under the Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion & Regulation) Ordinance, 1984 as amended by Act 2016.
