LAHORE:On the directions of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, police continue crackdown on criminal elements across the city.
The Police Response Unit (PRU) and Dolphin Squad are successfully carrying out operations against the “Dala Culture” involving public display of weapons. The PRU team arrested four suspects from Multan Road for openly displaying firearms. Among the arrested were Zafar, Irshad, and Jabbar. Confiscated items included a walkie-talkie set, three rifles, and magazines. The suspects were flaunting weapons on a Vigo pickup and have prior criminal records.
Similarly, intelligence-based operations by the Dolphin Squad against thieves are ongoing. In the Chuhang area, two suspects—Qurban and Sajid—who had stolen valuable mobile phones from citizens, were apprehended. The Dolphin team responded swiftly to a Safe City alert and arrested the suspects from Azmir Town. The stolen mobile phones were recovered.
Following the directions of SP Mobiles Arslan Zahid, strict security measures are being enforced at checkpoints throughout the provincial capital. At the Sagian checkpoint, officers arrested two suspects—including a woman—attempting to supply liquor under the guise of traveling with women. Upon checking a suspicious vehicle, over 100 bottles of various liquor brands were found. The suspects were involved in using women as cover to distribute alcohol.
In another operation, New Anarkali Police arrested two drug dealers—Imran and Tony—during a crackdown. A significant amount of crystal meth (ice) worth thousands of rupees was seized from their possession. In Shahdara Town, tireless efforts by the police led to the safe recovery of missing children. Three-year-old Ayan had gone out with his cousins, seven-year-old Hadiya and four-year-old Hania, and got lost. After a search by their mother, an abduction case was registered.
SP City Bilal Ahmed formed a team to locate the children, using Safe City cameras, technology, and human resources. After an overnight search, the children were safely recovered. Their mother thanked the Shahdara Town Police for their efforts.
