LDA to introduce more IT reforms

LAHORE:Lahore Development Authority (LDA), in order to improve citizen facilitation, has decided to bring more IT reforms in the organisation.

In this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of LDA DG Tahir Farooq on IT reforms. A briefing was given in the meeting about digital reforms in the Town Planning Wing.

In the meeting, LDA DG directed that the Town Planning Wing should be made completely paperless. All manual notices of Town Planning and other wings should be abolished, LDA DG said adding QR codes should be affixed on all LDA notices as soon as possible and only notices with QR codes should be issued. A digital record of Town Planning Wing, illegal penalties, illegal constructions and other notices should be compiled, said LDA DG added that such a system was being created that strict action will be taken against fake notices and forgeries.

A briefing was given in the meeting about the software created for the LDA Digital Monitoring Unit. Tahir Farooq said that citizens will be able to get other services including land use change, amalgamation and subdivision online. He directed to create an online application for the completion certificate process.

LDA DG reviewed the process of online building plan approval. He directed to make the building plan portal more convenient and not to ask for unnecessary documents. The meeting was attended by Chief Metropolitan Planning Faisal Qureshi, Chief Town Planner One Asadul Zaman and Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali and Deputy Director IT.
