LAHORE:Increasing trend in the prices of perishable items was witnessed with open violations of price list across the provincial metropolis.
Vegetables and fruits were not sold at official rates anywhere in the City. The effectiveness of price control and fixation mechanism is challenged and the use of new price control department headed by a secretary has not delivered any outcome so far except photo session in different markets.
This week the rate of live chicken was reduced by Rs28 per kg, fixed at Rs369-383 per kg, while the seller didn’t sale live chicken but the chicken meat was sold at Rs580-690 per kg and chicken boneless at Rs900-1050 per kg.
Lemon local fixed at Rs390-410 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg. The price of potato soft skin A-grade was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs55-60 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, B-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs45-50 per kg and C-grade at Rs35-40 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
Price of potato sugar-free gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs45-50, B-grade 35-40 and C-grade at Rs27-30 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg. The price of onion A-grade was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs35-40 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg, B-grade at Rs27-30 per kg, and C-grade at Rs22-25 per kg, mixed sold at Rs50-60 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade was also increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs35-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs27-30 per kg, and C-grade at Rs22-25 per kg, mixed sold at Rs60-80 per kg. The price of garlic local new was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs176-185 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, Garlic China by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs252-265 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Garlic Harani increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs224-235 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.
The price of both Ginger Thai was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at 582-610 per kg, and garlic Chinese by Rs80 per kg, fixed at Rs535-580 per kg, both sold at Rs800-1000 per kg. Cucumber Farm gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg, cucumber local by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs120-130 per kg. Brinjal price increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg.
Bitter gourd gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of Spinach increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs35-40 at Rs80-100 per kg. Zucchini local was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs133-140 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg. Pumpkin was further gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Sweet pumpkin was unchanged at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg.
Lady finger price cut by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, sold at Rs130-150 per kg. Arum price increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs280-300 per kg. Luffa was increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Green chili unchanged at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Capsicum price was further increased by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs142-150 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.
Price of cauliflower was further increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs124-130 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, and cabbage was by Rs20 per kg, fixed at 47-50 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.
Carrot Chinese increased by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs200-250 per kg. Pea price gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs219-230 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs300 per kg.
Coriander was sold at Rs80 per bundle. Price of different variety of apples further gained by Rs30 per kg fixed at Rs250-420 per kg, sold at Rs350-800 per kg. The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs188-210 per dozen, sold at Rs280-350 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs134-150 dozen, sold at Rs200-230 per dozen. C-grade was fixed at Rs90-100 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen. Dates were unchanged at Rs430-460 per kg, sold at Rs900 to 2000 per kg. Melon was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs66-110 per kg, sold at Rs80-150 per kg.
Watermelon was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg. Peach was further gained by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs160-240 per kg, sold at Ra 180-350 per kg. Phalsa was further increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs285-300 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg. Apricot yellow increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs170-180 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, Apricot white was by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs237-250 per kg, sold at Rs300-400 per kg.
Mangoes of the different varieties gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs240-270 per kg, sold at Rs250-400 per kg. Cherry box gained by Rs30 per box, fixed at Rs310-330, sold at Rs400-450 per box. Plump was unchanged at Rs335-350 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg.
