LAHORE: The poetical works of Pakistani Punjabi poet Baba Najmi have been included in the academic syllabus of the Bikaner University of India.
His poetry has been incorporated into the Punjabi curriculum of Bikaner University, located in the Indian city of Bikaner. His work has been included in the Punjabi poetry textbook titled Kavi Udari that is edited by Dr Kuldeep Singh and Sandeep Singh Mande.
The selected poets include several award-winning Indian literary figures such as: Amrita Pritam, Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Dr. Jagtar, Dr. Harbhajan Singh, Baba Najmi, Avtar Lop, Bhai Veer Singh, Puran Singh, Dhani Ram Chatrak, Professor Mohan Singh, Surjit Patar, Sant Ram Udasi, and Jaswant Zafar. Baba Najmi is the only Pakistani Punjabi Poet whose work has been included in the curriculum of any Indian university.
