LAHORE:Punjab Home Department, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, has issued comprehensive instructions to strengthen security measures across the province.

Home Department spokesperson said that enhanced security arrangements have been directed for key installations and sensitive locations in the context of hostile threats. He said special security plans are instructed to be formulated in all districts to ensure strict and timely implementation. Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to keep disaster management plans active to handle emergencies, with police and administration remaining vigilant on the ground.

The home department has directed to ensure strict screening at the entry and exit points of the province. It is directed that divisional and district intelligence committee meetings be called immediately to finalise the security plan.

The spokesperson added that all Deputy Commissioners have been authorised to impose Section 144 as and when needed to maintain law and order during Eid days. It has been directed that cattle markets must be established only at approved sites outside city premises, with security personnel deployed on-site. Sale and purchase of sacrificial animals outside these designated areas is to be strictly prohibited.

Regarding sacrificial hides, the spokesperson emphasised that no banned organisation will be allowed to collect them; only organisations registered with the Punjab Charity Commission will be authorised to receive the hides.

Foolproof security arrangements, including CCTV cameras, walk-through gates, and individual screening, have been ordered for all Eidgahs.
