LAHORE : Very hot weather was observed in the City here on Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials warned that windstorm/dust-thunderstorm/hailstorm/heavy falls and lightning may damage loose structures like (electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels etc) during (Thursday-evening/night) and Friday.
They said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country while a fresh westerly wave was expected to affect upper parts of the country from tomorrow (Thursday).
They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country. However, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm was expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Garhi Dupatta, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Kakul, Dir, Peshawar, Bacha Khan Airport, Pattan, Drosh, Murree, Islamabad, Chakwal, D G Khan, Attock, Barkhan, Chilas, Gupis, Astore and Hyderabad.
Wednesday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Jacobabad, Turbat and Sibbi where mercury reached 47°C while in Lahore, it was 42°C
