IGP reviews crime control efforts

LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar reviewed the performance of the Crime Control Department (CCD) for the Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan regions on Monday.

A Punjab Police spokesperson reported that the IGP chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO), commending the CCD teams in Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and the district police for their successful joint operation in dismantling the Bosan gang. Regional Officers (ROs) from CCD DG Khan and Bahawalpur briefed the IGP on their progress toward set targets. In his address, the IGP highlighted that the effective coordination between the CCD and district police has led to a significant reduction in crime rates in DG Khan and Bahawalpur. Additional Inspector General (AIG) CCD, Sohail Zafar Chatha, emphasized that eliminating organised crime, including Kacha criminals, remains a top priority for the CCD in these regions.
