Man kills second wife

LAHORE : In Nishat Colony on Saturday, a man identified as Ejaz allegedly shot and killed his 21-year-old second wife, Iqra, during a heated argument over his relationship with his first wife.

According to police, Iqra disapproved of Ejaz’s continued ties with his first wife, which led to a verbal altercation.

In a fit of rage, Ejaz opened fire, killing Iqra on the spot. The police have arrested Ejaz, and an investigation is underway.

Gang involved in robbing homes arrested

Misri Shah police have arrested a gang allegedly involved in robbing homes under the guise of painting services, recovering stolen cash worth Rs1.3 million and illegal weapons.

The suspects - identified as Saifullah and Kaleemullah - were part of a criminal network that targeted homes by posing as painters.

The gang reportedly gained entry into a businessman’s residence a few days ago under the pretense of painting work before making off with gold jewelry worth millions.

Female cop wins int’l award

A Pakistani woman police officer has earned an outstanding honour by winning an international award at the World Police Summit.

ASP Anam Sher Khan was awarded the first position in the Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award 2025 category for her exceptional performance in criminal investigation.

Punjab Police spokesperson shared that the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police presented the international award to ASP Anam Sher Khan at a ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Extraordinary performances of police officers from 192 countries in various categories were considered for the World Police Summit Awards. Anam was honoured for successfully solving two important cases in Punjab.

The spokesperson further shared that DPO Kasur M Essa Khan was declared runner-up for the Best Artificial Intelligence Implementation in Policing Award category for his outstanding performance in the use of artificial intelligence in policing.
