Medical institutions closed

LAHORE:The Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department has informed that all the educational institutions i.e. medical universities, colleges, nursing colleges and allied health schools, under its administrative control, shall remain closed on May 9 and 10, 2025.

According to a notification issued on Thursday, all the examinations scheduled for May 9 and 10 have been postponed. The new exam schedule shall be notified by the respective medical university later.

Leaves of medical staff cancelled

Due to heightened border tensions, the Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department has cancelled all non-essential leaves for medical staff in hospitals. According to a notification issued on Thursday, leaves (except ex-Pakistan, Hajj, Medical, Maternity, Study, and Iddat) for doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals under its control are cancelled with immediate effect until further notice. Additionally, the department has imposed a ban on all postings and transfers for the time being.
