LAHORE:The IGP, Punjab, Wednesday visited the Internal Security Control Room at the Civil Secretariat to review the province’s security strategy.
The IGP met with the Punjab Chief Secretary and senior officials to discuss the Punjab Police's logistical and strategic preparedness. He noted that the police are on high alert due to tensions along the Indian border. He confirmed enhanced security at key locations, including inter-provincial checkpoints, with seamless coordination among police, civil administration, Civil Defence, and Rescue 112. Anti-riot units, the Air Red Warning System, and the Volunteer Warden Service have been activated, with resources deployed to sensitive areas. The IGP reaffirmed Punjab Police’s solidarity with national forces and their active role in relief and evacuation efforts in affected regions.
