LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique in his message on Firefighters Day paid tribute to the firefighters who risk their lives to protect the lives and property of the people.
He said that firefighters fulfill their pledge to serve humanity without caring for their own lives. We pay tribute to the services of the martyred firefighters. Fire Rescue Service has saved the people from losses worth Rs716 billion in 260,830 fire incidents and martyrs of Rescue 1122 are great heroes of the nation. Steps have been taken to increase the capacity of Rescue 1122 firefighters in Punjab.
Rescue 1122 firefighters are being provided with the latest equipment to ensure safety. Basic measures are being taken for the welfare of all rescue personnel, including firefighters, he concluded.
A special ceremony, flag march, and commemorative walk were held here at the Rescue office on Sunday in connection with International Firefighters Day, paying rich tribute to the brave men and women who risk their lives in the line of duty.
The event was attended by rescue volunteers, officers, and members of the community. The day’s proceedings began with a formal flag march, followed by a symbolic walk to raise awareness about the courage and dedication of firefighters.
Organisers stated that the ceremony aimed to honour the selfless services and sacrifices of firefighters who put their lives at risk to save others. Special prayers were offered for the fallen heroes, recognising their unwavering commitment to public safety.
