12 gangsters arrested in 24 hours

LAHORE : Punjab Police have arrested 12 members of 6 criminal gangs in 24 hours and recovered Kalashnikovs, pistols, rifles, revolvers, and guns from their possession.

According to Punjab Police spokesperson, the police recovered 22 motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, 4 tola gold, and Rs 5 million from accused. The police also detained 117 proclaimed offenders (POs), 8 judicial absconders, and 37 habitual criminals. The police during operations against criminals neutralized 7 offenders. The IGP directed the officers to continue operations against criminal elements.

Match security

Punjab police, under the direction of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, comprehensive security was provided to domestic and foreign players, officials, and cricket fans during a PSL match between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium. During the match, more than 8,000 police officers and personnel performed security duties. IG Punjab directed that supervisory officers personally reviewed security and traffic arrangements. Police personnel at duty points remained extremely alert and kept a close watch on suspicious activities. Punjab Police adopted an even better strategy for the security of PSL matches. IG Punjab mentioned that coordination with district administration and security agencies was complete for the peaceful conduct of PSL matches.
