Thunderstorm, rain hit City

LAHORE:THE City on Thursday night received rain coupled with thunderstorm, plunging many areas into darkness as more than 70 percent Lesco feeders as usual tripped the moment rain started.

Dozens of trees fell in different localities, including Jail road, Canal Road New Campus side, near Nursery Chowk, Model Town Mor, following which traffic remained block. Many motorists were seen taking shelters under roadsides places. With the rain, the City weather turned pleasant.

Earlier during the day, hot weather with partly cloudy conditions continued to prevail in the City while Met office predicted similar weather conditions with chances of scattered rain for the next 24 hours.

Met officials said the highest maximum temperature in the city was 36°C and lowest was 24°C. They said there was chance of scattered rain during the next two days across the city while windstorm may also occur in various cities of the country. Meanwhile, the average AQI in the city was 162 while the PM2.5 concentration was 14.2 times the World Health Organization annual PM2.5 guideline value.
