LAHORE:The district administration Lahore and LDA conducted separate operations against illegal constructions and encroachments in the city here on Tuesday.
The teams, under the leadership of DC Syed Musa Raza, demolished two unauthorised buildings in Data Ganj Bakhsh Zone and Ravi Zone as part of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore's (MCL) operation against structures violating building regulations. The demolition activities were personally supervised by MCL Chief Officer Shahid Abbas Kathia.
The teams sealed 170 properties and confiscated 20 truck loaded with materials from illegal structures, cleared encroachments from Wahdat Road, Jubilee Town, and Niazi Chowk, whilst illegal occupations have been removed from Yakki Gate, Delhi Gate, and Basti Saiden Shah areas. The district administration has registered four FIRs against serious violations, with numerous warning notices issued to other offenders.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the LDA teams sealed 126 properties in various schemes and LDA-controlled areas. They sealed 36 properties in Gulberg, New Garden, 58 properties in Gujjarpura, Samanabad, Shadman, Shah Jamal, Gulshan Ravi for non-payment of commercial fees and illegal commercial use.
