LAHORE:The vibrant Mela Baharan 2025 began on Friday with a grand inauguration at Delhi Gate, marking the start of a three-day cultural extravaganza in the heart of Lahore’s Walled City. Organised in collaboration with the Punjab government, Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design (PIFD), Akhuwat, a private bank, and the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), the festival aims to celebrate Lahore’s rich heritage through music, arts, and traditional performances.

The highlight of the opening day was the Shahi Guzargah Mosam-e-Bahar Parade, a majestic procession from Delhi Gate to Masjid Wazir Khan Chowk, captivating audiences with its historical grandeur.

Speaking at the inauguration, WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari emphasised, 'Mela Baharan is a tribute to Lahore’s timeless traditions and a community-driven effort to preserve our cultural heritage.' A representative from a paint company expressed excitement, stating, 'It is an honor to contribute to this initiative that showcases Lahore’s artistic legacy and beautifies our beloved City.'

With streets adorned with colourful flowers, the festival also featured traditional puppet shows, folk music, and pottery workshops, drawing an enthusiastic crowd. As the first festival of its kind in the Walled City, Mela Baharan 2025 is set to offer an unforgettable experience, celebrating the City’s history and artistic spirit.
