LAHORE : Around 422 individuals died in 42,549 road accidents across Punjab during March. The Punjab Emergency Services (PES) rescued 190,104 victims while responding to 184,837 emergencies across the province during this period. PES responded to 184,837 emergencies last month, including 119,312 medical emergencies, 42,549 road traffic accidents, 4,893 falls/slips, 4,356 delivery cases, 3,635 crime incidents, 2,146 fire incidents, 1,864 occupational injuries, 762 animal rescues, 543 electric shocks, 389 burn cases, 56 drowning incidents, 36 structural collapses, and 4,296 miscellaneous operations in Punjab. Of these incidents, the majority occurred in Lahore, with 8,289 accidents resulting in 41 fatalities. Similarly, 2,982 accidents were reported in Faisalabad, 2,528 in Multan, 2,363 in Gujranwala, 1,551 in Sheikhupura, and 1,383 in Rawalpindi, while the remaining 23,453 accidents took place in other districts.
