LAHORE : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified passenger screening at Lahore Airport, leading to the apprehension of two individuals attempting to travel abroad using fraudulent documents.
The arrested passengers, identified as Mudassir Ali and Zeeshan Khokhar, were offloaded from their respective flights. Mudassir Ali was attempting to travel to Italy on flight QR-621, while Zeeshan Khokhar was headed to South Africa on flight EK-625. During immigration clearance, both individuals were found suspicious, and a detailed examination of their passports revealed fake visas for Italy and South Africa. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects purchased these visas for large sums of money from agents.
Zeeshan Khokhar reportedly acquired the Italian visa from an agent named Usman for Rs2.7 million. The suspects have been transferred to the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle in Lahore for further investigation.
FIA Lahore Director Sarfraz Khan Virk stated that stringent screening at Lahore Airport continues, with a crackdown under way on those involved in forging travel documents. He emphasised that detailed verification of suspicious travel documents is a priority.
