CM Internship Programme ambit to be broadened: minister

LAHORE:Expanding the ambit of Chief Minister Internship Programme, Provincial Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar announced that the monthly scholarship will be enhanced from Rs25,000 to Rs60,000, number of internees from 6,000 to 10,000 and duration from six months to one year in the next phase of this programme.

He made this announcement while addressing the Progress Review Session of Chief Minister Internship Program at the E-Library and Youth Centre, Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) on Thursday.

Additional Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Mian Usman Ali, Director General e-Governance PITB Sajid Latif, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Youth Affairs Umair Hasan, CM Internship Programme supervisors, focal persons and a large number of male and female internees were also present on this occasion.

After listening multiple issues regarding ATM cards, non-payment of stipends, Faisal Khokhar on this occasion directed to establish a Complaint Cell at the NPSC e-Library for resolving different issues of internees.

After his speech, the provincial minister also conducted a 2-way discussion with the internees. The internees shared their problems in the discussion and the provincial minister replied all the queries in detail.

Addressing the session, the provincial minister said that 70 to 80 jobs with a salary package of Rs one lakh will be created in the next phase of Chief Minister Internship Programme. “Punjab Sports Department is taking effective measures for the bright future of youth as per vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz”.

He said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz wanted to provide maximum opportunities the younger generation in every field. “More than 65 % of the population of Punjab is comprised of the younger generation and this bulk of youth can play a key role for the development of the country”.

A panel discussion was also arranged at the ceremony to enlighten the audience about the progress, challenges of CM Internship Programme. Additional Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Mian Usman Ali, DG e-Governance PITB Sajid Latif, Senior Manager Talent Acquisition Saad Ullah Jaral and Assistant Commissioner HR and Coordination Lahore Adnan Bashir Warriach participated in the panel discussion and provide necessary awareness to internees about CM Internship Programme.

Later, Faisal Khokhar presented souvenirs to Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, DG e-Governance PITB Sajid Latif and other officials on this occasion.
