LAHORE:Punjab University and National Commission for Human Development have signed an MoU on collaborating in the Prime Minister’s National Literacy Campaign under the ‘Each One Teach One’ initiative. This initiative is in line with Pakistan’s ‘Education Emergency 2024’ and ‘Prime Minister’s Bright Pakistan – National Literacy Drive, Engaging Students’. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the PU Vice Chancellor Office. The ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Ali, NCHD DG Ali Asghar and others.
UET’s renovated building inaugurated
The inaugural ceremony of the newly-renovated building of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was held here on Thursday. The department’s classrooms, offices, and laboratories have been renovated, with all expenses generously covered by UET's alumni. The alumni made a substantial donation of Rs66 million to support the renovation of the department. The inaugural ceremony was attended by UET Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Shahid Munir, along with the Deans, Chairman, and faculty members.
Dr Shahid Munir formally inaugurated the upgraded Electrical Engineering Department.
In his address, he expressed his gratitude towards the alumni for their generous contributions and praised the efforts of the Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department, Prof Dr Asghar Saqib, Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Shoaib, and Dr Salman Fakhar, for their dedication to enhancing the department. Dr Shahid Munir emphasised the importance of fostering a culture of donations across all departments to ensure that students have access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern equipment, and world-class laboratories and facilities.
