LAHORE:Punjab University and University of Regina, Canada, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote exchange programmes, academic and research activities.
In this regard, the MoU signing ceremony was held at PU VC’s office in which Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmad, President and Vice-Chancellor University of Regina Dr Jeff Keshen, Associate Vice-President Haroon Chaudhry, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood, PUASA President Dr Amjad Magsi, Director External Linkages Prof Dr Yaamina Salman and others were present. Prof Dr Muhammad Ali and Dr Jeff Keshen emphasised the importance of academic cooperation between the two universities. Both reaffirmed a shared commitment to faculty and student exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, and academic development.
Four new student societies at GCU
Government College University (GCU) Lahore Wednesday established four new student societies to promote academic and cultural awareness among students.
The Ash-Shadhili Society for Sufism, the Visual Arts Society, the Kashyap Society for Biology, and the Griffins Public Policy and Governance Society are formed to provide platforms for intellectual discourse, artistic expression, and policy discussions. Each society will operate under the guidance of a designated faculty advisor. Dr M Hanif, Assistant Professor of Botany has been designated as the staff advisor for the Kashyap Society for Biology, Tahir Ali Sadiq, Lecturer in Fine Arts, for Visual Arts Society, Dr Hafz M Naeem, Director of the Sheikh Abul Hassan Ash-Shadhili Research Centre for Sufism, Science, and Technology, for the Ash-Shadhili Society for Sufism, and Dr M Usman Asghar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy, for Griffins Public Policy and Governance Society.
PU VC inaugurates 100KW solar system
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Wednesday inaugurated the 100KW solar facility at the admin block during a ceremony.
On the occasion, the VC said the incumbent administration is taking significant steps towards sustainability and self-sufficiency in energy, saying the initiative will reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Pro-VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, and officers were also present.
