LAHORE:Punjab Agriculture Department has termed wheat crop situation in the province satisfactory. Talking to reporters, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo Friday said the timely guidance is being accorded to farmers in view of the current weather conditions.
He said the wheat crop was being taken care of as per the recommendations of experts. This season, he observed, wheat weeds were treated in a timely and effective manner compared to previous years.
The agriculture secretary said partial rain has had positive effects in some areas of Rawalpindi division. Special instructions have been issued to the relevant formations to accelerate field activities for better care of wheat, he maintained. He added awards would be given to farmers at provincial and district levels for achieving high wheat production.
