UET launches Associate Degree programme

LAHORE:For the first time in the history of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, two-year degree programmes have been launched. Now, students can enrol in two-year Associate Degree Programmes. UET Lahore has introduced subsidised A-1 category two-year Associate Degree Programmes for candidates holding a domicile in Punjab.

The last date for submitting the online application form and admission form is February 10, 2025. It is important to note that there is no entrance test requirement for admission to these programmes. Students can obtain a two-year degree from UET without having to pass the ECAT exam. Students will receive a token number on Rs500 payment. This token number can be obtained from any branch of UBL or HBL. Additionally, the token fee can also be paid through internet banking, UBL mobile app, UBL Omni, HBL mobile app, and HBL Konnect. Admissions are open for two-year Associate Degree Programmes in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. The first merit list will be released on February 14, and the last date for submitting documents and fees is February 27.All admission-related information is available on the admission portal at admission.uet.edu.pk.

PU teams win Int’l Collegiate contest

Punjab University Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) participated in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Pakistan region and secured five positions in the top 12. The FCIT teams have shown their outstanding performance in the ICPC 2024 Pakistan region and obtained three silver and two bronze medals. Dean Faculty of Computing and Information Technology Prof Dr Shahzad Sarwar said that this was a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication and talent of our students. He congratulated the winning teams.

UO offers total fee waiver to orphans

The University of Okara’s (UO) Finance & Planning Committee (F&PC) unanimously approved cent percent fee waiver for all orphan students during its 17th meeting on Friday.

The committee chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sajjad Mubin also approved Rs1.6 billion budget for the calendar fiscal year among several other agendas for the academic, administrative and infrastructural development of the varsity. The highlight of the meeting was the approval of Prof Mubin’s landmark initiative of free education for the orphan students. Moreover, the F&PC approved the establishment of an Endowment and Scholarship Fund of Rs50 million for the students.

Another key agenda of the meeting was the provision of transportation facilities to all students. This was also approved by the F&PC. The VC’s initiated process of establishing a dispensary and a state-of-the-art cafeteria at the varsity on the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model was also approved in the meeting. The F&PC gave approval to the policy for the enrolment of international students and the Learning Management System (LMS) for the varsity.
