Rs39bn uplift schemes approved

LAHORE:Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved five development schemes worth over Rs39.73 billion. The approval was made in the 63rd meeting of the PDWP.

The meeting was presided over by Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan. Secretary P&D Board Dr. Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers attended the meeting. The approved schemes included construction of road from Bahawalpur (N-5) to Jhangrah Sharqi Interchange (KLM), District Bahawalpur, at the cost of Rs4.933 billion, dualisation of Mian Channu (N-5) to Abdul Hakim Interchange (M-4) via Tulamba, District Khanewal, at the cost of Rs3.039.284 billion, dualisation of road from Gujranwala to M-2 Interchange at Kot Sarwar via Hafizabad, District Gujranwala and Hafizabad, at the cost of Rs13.231 billion, dualisation of Sargodha-Khushab-Mianwali Road, District Khushab, at the cost of Rs11.806 billion, widening/improvement of road from Sialkot Cantt to Jassar Garrison, District Sialkot & Narowal at the cost of Rs7.058.
