Lahore once again tops world’s most polluted cities

LAHORE: Once again, the provincial capital reached top of the world’s most polluted cities as the average AQI touched 268 on Sunday, which came in the category of very unhealthy.

Data collected from IQAir revealed that PM2.5 concentration was 38.6 times the World Health Organisation annual PM2.5 guideline value. The most polluted city areas included Ivy Green (461), Burki Road (418), Bedian Road (406), Polo Ground Cantt (394), Thokar (326), Pine Avenue (313) and Phase8-DHA (295). Sunday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -09°C, while in Lahore, it was 5.7°C and maximum was 18.2°C.
